Latest Designs for Lincoln's Second Church Street Tower

Dallas-based Lincoln Property Company is ramping up its plans for its second mixed-use skyscraper in downtown Orlando, The Edge, and the following plans were submitted to the Historic Preservation Board for a courtesy review for their upcoming meeting on October 6.

The 33-story tower will be located at 225 S. Garland Avenue [GMap], sandwiched between Cheyenne Saloon and Lincoln’s recently completed 28-story SunTrust Plaza, home to AC Hotel and its Sky Bar, directly on top of where the Ballroom at Church Street Station is located. The Ballroom was built in 1994 and as such, is not considered a historic building and is labeled as non-contributing to the Downtown Historic District, which was created in 1980.

The project is being designed by Baker Barrios and will feature 34 hotel units, 28,000 SF of ballroom space, 204 residential units, 2,000 SF of retail, and 171,000 SF of office space, along with a parking garage with 685 spaces. The bottom floor of the project will connect with the under-construction Bumby Arcade Food Hall, which will house an expected 18 different food stalls.

Items from the Ballroom that are not being used in the new tower are going to be donated to the Downtown Arts District for their new CityArts Courtyard project in the alleyway next to their building.

Construction on the tower is expected to begin by the end of 2021.

A third phase for the Lincoln Property super-block project includes additions and updates to the Cheyenne Saloon buildings.
